Jet JWL 1221VS - Which stand?
« on: January 19, 2020, 09:55:01 PM »
I've a bit of a quandary.  I've got a 1221VS and am thinking of getting the Jet stand which is specifically made for this lathe.  But it's pricey compared to similar sized Axminster, Record Power, Charnwood etc lathe stands.

Can anyone offer advice or comments based on knowledge or experience?

Also the Jet stand doesn't have splayed legs at the floor end whereas the other comparable sized stands do.  It make me wonder whether that would make a difference to stability?

Many thanks

Thank you George.

Yes I spotted a Charnwood stand recently and they're similar build to the Axminster stand.  Last time I looked both these were just under the £100 mark, the Record Power is around £125 whereas the Jet is priced at £220 iso it makes me wonder how (and if) the Jet stand is justified at that price.
