Watch the birdy
« on: October 22, 2019, 06:38:08 PM »
Not all turning is arty or serious woodturning sometimes it is making something just for the fun of it.
This bird cocktail stick holder is made from Ash and American Black Walnut. Finished with cellulose sander sealer and Melamine lacquer, it stands 4 1/2" tall. This now has been nabbed by the wife as part of a Christmas present, well that did not last long and before the finish had even dried.

C and C welcome all the same

Cute and qurky. Like that. I find birds and off centre turning sell well but haven't thought of doing both together like this . If you're happy might borrow the general idea?

Thank you Pete and Nick

This is not something new in regards to the design I modified this from another bird I saw, forgive me for not naming anyone as it was a long time ago and could not find the original again to give them credit. I did a rough sketch and forgot to put the name on that which is something I normally do.

The difference between art and utility is often just marketing, the danger of this piece is that your wife may want a dozen before Christmas. I may also need to plagiarise this fun design  ;)

Now this one is done I can see other animals being made into cocktail stick holders. I don't mind anyone using this design but as I stated not totally my design.
