I finally found one!

I've heard the stories, but deep inside a big lump of Ash, today i finally found a well buried and hidden nail.

All of a sudden there was a bump, bump, bump I could not account for.

There was no indication it was there from the grain of colour of the wood that had grown over it.

Thankfully the mild steel of the nail was no match for the tool steel of the weapon in hand, but it had me worried.

Could have been nasty at least the tool and you survived

I have also found lead musket balls - less tool-damaging!

And I imagine somewhat older than my mild steel nail.

I have found one this year so far, I must have found about five last year so only four more to go and I beat my record.
