A Coloured Hollow Form
« on: August 09, 2018, 11:21:36 AM »
Morning All
Not posted anything for a bit, a hollow form from sycamore size is 9" diameter x 6 1/2" high with the finial, the finish is just cheap acrylic paint from B&M, mixed some colours and then sponged on, satin lacquer used to top coat it, as usual c&c welcome
all the best
Andy

Very nice Andy. I like the effect and the finial does not over power the piece.

Very nice although I prefer a shiny finish this one is still very good. Well done.

I like everything about this.

The shape is right and the balance of black and blue paint is nicely even. Even the slight texture imparted by the pain, gives an eggshell effect. The matt against the shine of the finial works. The shape of the finial works well, strong enough to sit on the shape without being too overbearing.

Yep, I like this.

It's a cracker....I don't do much coloured work, but if I could get results like this, I'm sure I'd be doing it more often.
Les

p.s. ... can you do anything about that black spot on the backdrop, it keeps cropping up i the pics. ;D
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Andy gloss finish is just a personal thing for some items, I don't think this piece diminishes by any means because of the finish. There is a contrast between the vessel and the finial which is a nice gloss so it all works.
