All in the day
« on: July 03, 2018, 09:56:51 AM »
A couple of days work, both sides of professional turning.

Some pins for a lady who does leather work that I met at a recent show. The one underneath is the one she was using. Wanted a dozen to start then ongoing commission.

Needed some decent sized bowls for the bottom of our display at shows so.....
14" oak burr bowl with brass inlay. Took longer filling all the little nooks and crannies than turning the bowl LOL.

16 1/2" burr yew bowl left natural, no filling etc.

C&C welcome as always.

Given how basic the original pin is, she'll be delighted with the new ones, I'm sure. Lovely piece of oak and the brass goes so well with it.....the piece of yew is to die for; as good as a piece of yew gets; a show-stopper!

Thanks Les, sent her the photo and she is happy with them. Hopefully be an ongoing commission with her, every little helps and the bread and butter stuff is what puts food on the table. Got a pile of the oak burs to get through, the yew was one I picked up from a retiring turner a few months ago. One off, haven't seen many this size

Great work Pete,

Especially love the Pizza platter (oak bowl), the way it seems to divide into 4, so you know where to cut the pie!

Hadn't noticed it quite that way LOL Think it's a selling point?
