Experimental Paint job
« on: July 01, 2018, 08:21:45 PM »
Another experiment that went wrong but the wife liked it so I completed it. As you can see the paint shrank back leaving what appears to be cracks. Somehow the more I look at it the more I like it. It is 10 1/2" X 2" and I believe it is lime

C & C welcome

Derek,

strangely I looked at the pics before I read the text, my first thought was you've been experimenting with 'Crackle Glaze'. I was impressed with the colour range showing through the cracks but thought it a shame that they were not a bit more connected up.

Don't know what you did wrong, but do more of it wrong next time!

I agree with your good lady and like it.

Called Craquelure and is a well established form of painting. Also called serendipity. See my signature.

Thank you both. It certainly was not a crackle glaze, I think I need to alter the mix next time as I am just playing at the moment
