Scheppach Basato 5-4

Hi all....I've been offered a Scheppach Basato 5-4 bandsaw. It looks to be in excellent condition. One owner since new and used for hobby purposes. It's about 300mm depth of cut, 440mm throat. Unfortunately, some bloke who bought a spindle moulder from my seller, conned her into believing that the bandsaw's rip fence and mitre fence belonged to the spindle moulder, so she let him take them.

I'd appreciate any info regarding the quality of the machine, value, when it was made, availability of spares etc. I've contacted Scheppach by email, but am still awaiting response and an unbiased view is always handy.

I have one of these bought it secondhand 10 years ago, great reliable machine. The only issue l have had is with one of the wheels. The threads for the bolts stripped, however a couple of helicoils sorted that out

no idea about the bandsaw, never owned one. But I do have an old Record Fence and Mitre Gauge that might fit it, if that helps.

not sure if you can get a new 5-4 now think they are all 5-2  (4 or 2 speed) I would expect a 5-2 to be in excess of £2k brand new

They are good solid machines mine is a work horse

I'm sure you're right....but I was referring to the second hand value of a machine of this age.

If you contact them they might tell you the age.  That'll give you one point to base second hand value on
