Eggs Royal?
« on: March 11, 2018, 09:20:28 AM »
Created by my alter-ego Prof' Bergenstrauser, Victorian/Edwardian romantic, inventor and steampunk engineer for a club competition to produce 2 matching decorated eggs and eggcups. The cups are made of sycamore and the eggs cherry.  Only the straight pipes and elbows are metal.

The Prof' thinks they would make an ideal gift for a Royal Wedding and awaits the commission and warrant!

C&C Welcome

Nick

I also like the Steampunk feeling in this and the humour it exudeds has brought a big smile to my face.

Great concept, please explore the wood turning/Steampunk area further. I would love to see where this can go.

That is wonderful, and a lot of work by the look of it.
Just to get a sense of scale, are the eggs life-sized?

Mr Simpson, I am beginning to wonder about you! Seriously, this is such a fun project and full marks to you for taking what was a fairly traditional brief and turning it into a work of inspired joy that not even that Faberge bloke could have thought [f.

The Prof' thanks all contributors for their opinions and tells me that the egg was free range but when captured was found to be 2 25/32" long x 1 23/32" at the widest point and when cooked was delicious.

The Copper pipes and beads are 5/32" and 1/8" respectively. The Prof's a great imperialist ::) ::)

If it isn't fun then why bother?

The Prof thanks the hanging committee for choosing his domestic utensils to receive this honour. He is pleased that a basic ‘club’ competition entry can be found in such exalted company. N

Thank you Les.
Fun is what it's really all about
The Prof and his new companion Mme Daisy Malaprop have been travelling on their long bike through southern Europe in search of the Alchemist, a decent hot beverage and a bit of breakfast. Bokxx  Spaenner, his lab assistant has been tasked with sorting out some of the domestic problems.
Their trials and travels will be illustrated soon.
Watch these pages.
