Pipe Dreams
« on: January 14, 2018, 07:11:08 PM »
Inspired  by Max Brosi, Red Adair and Bob the Builder.

My second tricylinder, again from a sycamore cube with sides 100mm.

Finish this time is Rustoleum 'gun metal' spray paint over ebonising spray.

Thanks to Allan Joicey for very patiently teaching me thread-chasing last winter. The threads are 14 tpi and were cut with a 1943 chaser stamped with the W D logo.

The naked version is for Tony Di.  'No Signal' and this piece were finished to this level before coating. There is still a bit of carving to do as you can see. The right angle junction between the 'pipes' clearly takes longer than the graduated junction of 'No Signal'

C&C always welcome
Kind Regards    Nick

Whilst I appreciate the skill involvded in making these they don't appeal to me as an item per se. I am sure that they could be taken a step further as Max Brosi does into what would be for me a more artistic design.

Thank You Nick for sharing the before pic.... we do though think the rusty one suits the idea more.
       Kind Regards

I had to google Max Brosi, the other two I had heard of. Though I can now say I know the Brosi work but did not know the name.

An interesting idea for a turning, very industrial.

And from that statement, and considering the latest trend for industrial lighting, I think this would look great with a lamp fitted into it.
