Wine or Pepper
« on: December 17, 2017, 12:58:50 PM »
I had a guy ask me to make a pepper grinder in the shape of a wine bottle. So this was not my idea but it's different.

Made from an unknown piece of wood and it's the same size as a empty bottle of Rioja  ;D ;D ;D

Not my normal sort of turning

All the best

Ed

Probably the sort of thing that would sell well at shows Ed. Make a label for the bottle e.g. Ed Oliver Collectors Vintage.

Turners don't make mistakes, they have design opportunities

Each to their own. To me it's ugly but if someone wants to commission it and are happy then it's a success.
never try to be better than others just better than you were yesterday.

It's actually quite amazing what people will commission and pay good money for, and on the other hand some really nice pieces that are made and never find a lover. Having said that, commissions are not a bad thing, they keep your skills sharp, so well done, Ed!

Your quite right Fuzzy made me get the skew out a tool that I don't use very much  ;D

Les that why I used an empty bottle of Rioja  ;D ;D

Crazy I don't think that I'll make one for home  ;D

Pete there will be no vintage pepper mills on my displays at shows, just a few bottles of wine  ;D ;D

All the best

Ed

I like it Ed but not the shape I would make but as you stated this is what they wanted. I can't see this being displayed with all your other stuff either

If the customer was happy with it, it's 100% right.
