A Bit Of Mixed Media

  Something  a bit Different..... As always trying new ideas certainly not sure about this one. We were told about this medium
  some months ago but was unsure how to adapt it to woodturning. Feed Back Would Be Very Much Appreciated.

Can't make my mind up about the effects you have achieved here. Looks like canvas applied in some way on some parts. Certainly something to exeriment with and can see it becoming something special in time having seen the ways you both work .

  I like this effect would love to see the Hessian cut in strips about an inch wide and woven together before fixing to the turned item.

      Thank You Martin For Commenting.... This being the first try, got a long way to go but do keep an eye on this space.

      Always thought marbling was messy ... this is messy and sticky .... but good fun.

Hi Tony and Di....I hate to say it, but I'm really struggling with this piece. I find it unattractive, yet at the same time, I am excited by the texture. What can I say.....perhaps I should reserve judgement until you've produced a few more pieces with this technique. Whatever I think is relatively unimportant, what is important is that you two keep pushing boundaries....keep at it!

You say that you found a new product, was this Paverpol or fibreglass.  It is always great to experiment andf would like to see where you are going to take this.

Hi Di and Tony. strangely I am quite drawn to this texture (probably the old soldier in me, pull up a sandbag and I will tell you a story!) I do think however that it would be given a lift by using colour on it. Certainly different though.

  Thank You John... I did a small experiment with brighter colours but felt it looked too bright... in the end decided for the
  first one that it would look better  with a more weathered look. As always though ALL feedback and thoughts are very much
  appreciated.

I know this product, and have been playing with it. Some strange effects it can create, everyone seems to get something that looks good except yourself, at least that's how I view it.

I sort of like the small pot(?), but think it could have had a little colour very gently applied in a few spots, to bring it to life.

Keep playing though, the possibilities are boundless.
