Latest pieces
« on: September 03, 2017, 02:15:51 PM »
I am getting ready for the IWG seminar in Dublin. Here are a couple of the pieces that I am taking with me. They are both about 170mm tall with the finial extra. The finial has a screw thread to make it easier to pack but also as I might put a more delicate finial on when I get back. Timbers used are predominately Maple with Purple Heart, African Blackwood, Wenge and Jarrah Burr. C&C welcome.

Nice example of segmented turning. Good luck with the seminar in Ireland.

Hi John...segmented work has never really appealed to me, but that doesn't stop me admiring the dedication and skill that goes into their production, and I've little doubt that it will be a popular exhibit/
Best of luck at  IWG....I hope that it goes well for you.

Odd? I responded to this yesterday but it has disappeared.

Like Les I don't really do segmented work, too much measuring LOL. I can appreciate the skill and quality in these though. Hope it goes well formyou in Ireland John.

Thank you for your kind comments. I have until mid October to get everything ready and these are the first two pieces.

John,

I saw this piece over the weekend, a great shame the photo does not do it justice. The chatoiance of the grain in the purpleheart neck is amazing.
