eucalyptus burl bowl with embellishments
« on: January 11, 2012, 07:01:29 AM »
This is resinous eucalyptus, very dry it soaked up the first two DO coats as if it didnt exist. Have a look at the dull image this is after the two coats of DO. Finished with three coats of WOP as the recipient wanted a gloss finish.
Size 6.5"x5.0" filled the burl prior to turning with CA as it looked a bit fragile.

Hi Hughie,

I don't have a preference, I just love the Burr. Nice piece of work.

I trust your customer was well pleased.

Hughie,

Yet another one of your wonderful pieces, like the details and finish, maybe a little OTT with the WOP, but then that's just how it looks from the flash in the picture.

It's a winner.

Hi Hughie

I think it's a lovely piece of work and I'm with George - I prefer the finish in the first pic

Cheers Dave

DO = Danish Oil

WOP = Wipe on polyurethane (a varnish)

CA = Cyanoacrylate (Super Glue)
