Tree identification book - recommendation request
« on: December 28, 2016, 02:14:56 PM »
Hello all, could anyone please recommend a tree identification pocked book?

I emphasise pocket book as I’m looking for something I can read on the train or bus.

I already have ‘Wood identification & use’ by Terry porter, a brilliant book but too large to carry around and it’s more to do with wood identification than trees.

I’d like something with loads of illustrations showing leaf type, tree shape etc.

There are many on the market i.e. Collins Tree Guide by Owen Johnson or Collins complete guide to British trees, but I have no idea which would be the best.

Any views, recommendations please.

Many thanks.

most others don't really fit in your pocket.
