Chainsaw....
« on: August 03, 2016, 09:48:55 AM »
Broke my chainsaw trying to slab some 16" diameter red oak  :'(   No big loss really, it was a real cheap electric job.  So, need a new one and am thinking petrol.   I need something that will slab the oak (logs are about 16" x 24") although it will more usually be used on smaller stuff.  Any thoughts/recommendations?  Budget to £300 absolute max.....would prefer £250.

I can thoroughly recommend the Timberpro 20" with Oregon Bar and chain. I purchased one a while back from Micromantis, got change from £100 believe it or not, 2 year warranty and spares on the shelf at the suppliers. I have been using it with an Alaskan mill so it works very hard. I couldn't believe it..... And with the two year warranty its going to last at least two years. The reviews on the web are good.

I wouldn't want to earn my living with it fir that it would be a pro saw, but for under £100 a time the Timberpro is cheap reliable and at 61cc handles even the milling.
