Coloured sycamore bowl
« on: September 30, 2011, 04:20:52 PM »
I guess this one is a wide rimmed bowl rather than a platter. Dimensions are 8" x 2" (20 x 5 cm). It is similar to the one I took to the seminar, just smaller and with different colours. The bowl part is turned off centre.

The colours were done by masking with frisket and using airbrush acrylic paints.

Comments welcome.

Hello Paul,
I think I like this one better than the last and I did like that one. I particularly like the way the feathering in the grain can be seen through the finish.

Hi Paul
Its funny how tastes vary, isn't it. I preferred the seminar piece more, but I may change my mind with a side view, if poss. Nice clean lines though and a superb finish.

I also think the first one you did looks better. From this angle not to keen on the outer contour of the bowl.
Still great art work and top
