old pot/box
« on: April 14, 2016, 04:18:07 PM »
I made this about ten yrs ago, never liked it,so re-turned the lid and base, its still nit pretty, but looks a lot better than before, the base half of it is around 1 1/2 mm thick and the lid is is less than 1 mm thick,it was made in my lets see how thin I can make things faze,,base was fine, lid went through and it was my last bit of that particular length of wood (mahogany type ?)left it for a couple of yrs before fitting a knob as lid had a 15 mm hole in it and was so thin,it was a "what do I do with this now",anyway I fitted a bit of paduak for the knob, didn`t like it.so its been sitting on the shelf waiting for a bit of attention,so yesterday (13-04-2016),I re-turned the base which was as wide as the pot/box as I used the wrong jaws (to big) at the time and re-turned the knob which looks a lot better, but still not pretty, cheers,

Eric.
