Carved Hollow Form
« on: June 27, 2011, 01:29:22 PM »
I have at last pushed myself to get back in the workshop, its been months since I turned. This piece stands 4" high and 3" at widest made from Horse Chestnut that had a horrible grey splated wash through the wood, tuned and hand carved then some texturing applied before coloring with airbrushed acrylics. This is inspired from a piece I saw last year, I dont know where on a forum or in the flesh but when I saw the piece I made a mental note that I would try it out one day so here it is.

As i have so few finished pieces this may have to be one I bring along to Loughborough.

Cheers Martin.

Nice one Martin.

My Loughborough piece is still half finished!  It'll be brilliant when it's done though :D :D

Cheers Dave

Martin I can't wait to see this in the flesh so to speek, the picture makes me want to turn it to see more of the wonderful detail that you have put into the piece. The days can't go by fast enough now, thanks for giveing us a sneek preview.

Hi All,

Thanks for the comments, dont build your hopes to much as the only carving is the bit you can see just plain turned on the back.

Cheers Martin.
