Seminar Instant Gallery Forum Corner?
« on: January 30, 2015, 12:49:47 AM »
It has been suggested that an area within the seminar instant gallery is set aside for forum members to exhibit together. If you are attending the seminar, would you participate in this?

Please only vote on this if you are intending to attend the seminar. Only delegates and presenters can enter exhibits for the gallery so it will be meaningless if you are not attending!

Hi Paul

I would be happy to do this if it helps to encourage other members of the forum to come along and display their work.

We on the forum often post pictures of our work for others to see and it would be great to see some of this work in the flesh.

I take it the work would still be part off the instant gallery but just grouped together so the AWGB forum members could find this work easier.

Hi Ed,
Yes it would still be part of the instant gallery. Every delegate can bring up to three pieces to exhibit.

I have not voted yet as I still haven't decided if I will be going but the grouping together of forum members work would also bring attention to the forum which would not be a bad thing.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

I voted no but only because I will not be there. If I was attending I'd definitely put something in.

I think its a great idea.

You didn't read the bit about "ONLY VOTE IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO ATTEND" then?   ::)

Sounds like the building of a clique to me, never a helpful thing in my experience. Forget your special corner and just add your forum name, if it is different to your formal one, would be my suggestion.

I'm not sure how a group of exhibits promoting the forum or any other group could be seen as creating a clique or anything similar when it's open to anyonew. Sounds like a very negative view if you ask me but each to their own!

Having said that, unless there are more forum members prepared to participate I don't think it's going to happen anyway.
