Thanks john, glad you like them.

i'm beginning to think that i've said or done something wrong to cause the lack of comments.

i really would like to know what more people think of my work.

Steve, as said, there's a lot to look at, difficult to comment on much of it in one answer. Maybe you'd have been better spreading it over several threads.

But my favourites are the Nest of Bowls and the walnut bowl with the white growth wood (very dramatic).

Not to sure about the Rippled Bowl (Second picture set) the work is good but too many curves without a defining cut makes it just sort of meld into itself.

I didn't comment as I wasn't sure where to start - there are so many posted in one go. Better to spread them through a number of threads as has been said. Nevertheless, they look good to me. Malcolm.

sorry if i've overloaded you all with too many pictures but george (GBF) pointed out that he could not see what my work looked like as i'd not posted any.

that's because i've only just worked out (after being told) how to resize a photo so it will fit on this forum and i thought i would put up a spread to show what i've done over the years. most of those exotics were done a few years back.

i will keep any bowls i post in this thread but i will not add loads in one go any more. more like one per fortnight.

i've got loads of those nests dragonfly and will be doing those in the weeks and months to come.

glad to hear no one thinks they are too pants...

Put some of your bowls and skittles up (in a separate thread LOL) we don't see them on here usually.

I am picturing all these on a craft fair table, they make a good display Steve.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Some excellent pieces there Steve, I do like to see wonderful wood in it's natural glory. You certainly have an eye for and give plenty of attention to quality of finish. Thanks for sharing your work.

it's interesting you should bring up the finish as putting those pics up shows me how my approach to finishing has changed over 6-7 years. there was a time where i would try to get a glossy look to my bowls but these days i tend to go for the satin touch.

i now sand the wood as highly as possible then buff it with it's own shavings and only give it one or two coats of oil re buff and let the wood do the talking.
