Hello All
« on: January 07, 2015, 04:36:10 AM »
Just wanted to say hello, new here in the forums and a new member of AWGB. Been working wood for a number of years last couple of years mostly by hand with using refurbished traditional hand tools: Now stepping into the realms of Turning a first for me, have the lathe set up and turned my first effort last week.
I'm in Somerset and Ive already made breif contact with my local tribe, however Im not in great health but hope to attend and learn from some experienced hands. Sometimes you'll some bad grammar and spelling from me Ill apologize now; I'm afraid the illness and medication can quite often cause me to talk complete and utter Arguuhmmmm... Nice to be here will have a good look about and read them rules..

Welcome Mark, always good to see new members. You seem to be in a good part of the country for support, with a plethora of members plus places like Yandles not too far away.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work...Les

Hello Mark, welcome to the AWGB and the forum. They are a good bunch here.
Regards
Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Hi Mark

Sorry to hear about your health problems you must have been fit when you worked for me in the eighties scaffolding,as you will remember I was a hard taskmaster.
It will be good to see you at our local club Burnham on Sea Woodturners.
In the meantime give me a ring for a chat or pop along and say hello .

Regards George
