Indeed it does and I didn't fancy taking that of the bed and then trying to get it back on single handed, its to unwieldily.

So I assembled it with the headstock on and ALMOST managed it by myself ( I wouldn't recommend doing it like this but it worked )
I just turned the lathe round on the pallet and then kept sliding the headstock along to the opposite end while I lifted one end and slid a block under. I got the first couple in by myself then needed SWMBO to slide the blocks under while I lifted each end alternately until it was high enough to get the legs under and bolt on.

Hairy, but good fun looking back on it.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Add wood ?
What, and make it mucky ?
Nah, it took me ages to clean the gunk off it.  :)
