I've got the blank - anyone seen any spare time laying around?

Wife's got us working on the house the last few weeks, garage work is backing up terribly.

I don't know about you guys but I have only half a project done. It has been way to hot to get in the workshop just lately.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

I thought I might take the lead,
Here's my take on the challenge.
Its from a 6X3 oak square.

That is an intriguing shape John, I take it that it is 3 separate pieces, how tall is it ?
The more I look at it the more I like it.

It certainly looks that way. I know what I wanted to do won't work. The bowl I posted in the gallery was the basis of my entry but the rest of the idea kept buckling. I am still working on it as I think it has potential but it will take a while.

I still like the idea, I've still got my blank and the idea. Time is a little more available but I need to get to another turners workshop to do 'the magic bit'!

Yes Ed, It's done as my take on the instructions I'd read on what had been the temporary site of WOW which has since been close.

For reference the means of turning should create the form 'Bowl Emerging' then it could be written the other way round..

Plans are to make it properly as a full half bowl ... some day.   Cheers  David
