Anyone know if Lovell Workwear are still in business? Order a smock from them last week, still not delivered, called a few times, phone goes straight to fax. Anyone heard anything?

They seem to be as they are supposed to be at Daventry this weekend.

That could be why they are not available as they have been getting ready for the show and/or for some reason their phone is stuck in fax mode.

If you PM me the details I will have a chat with them tomorrow for you, providing they are there.

Had a word with them at Daventry and they are still very much in business.

They are sorry if you are having problems contacting them, and the unsaid bit was are you using the correct details as on their site, if you use the form on their contacts page that does work and they do answer within 24 hours.

Having had an email from Lovell on Saturday evening promising dispatch of my smock on Monday, I have today received it.

I'm just amazed that they are not concerned with adverse publicity giving that we all canvass opinion on the forum for good suppiers etc.

Anyway, all's well that ends well.

Now I'm going to go and use my smock!!!!

I brought a smock from them at Daventry which I am very pleased with. Light, comfortable and effective.
What I really wanted was a short sleeved version and they didn't have one in my size (giant economy). They offered to make one for me but said it would take at least a month....... so I guess they are pretty busy.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Lovell workwear is a great company to deal with,I have never had any problems with them and am unable to believe the negativity seen here,I am aware that as soon as they were aware of the issue it was resolved. What more could you ask. They Were at a show and would be very tired after busy days, but still took the time to deal with the matter how can this be called bad publicity.
This is a company doing all they can to keep a customer happy.

As for asking if they are still trading Well!! They were at the Daventry show and I think everyone knows about that ,I would point out they need to travel to the show the day before and gather all they need for the show the day before that.

This is just my opinion: It seems to me this is a bit like sending an e-mail and getting no reply we can not tell if it has arrived and a little tolerance on occasions may be called for.We are after all human.

I will echo Nick Arnull's comments.

Over the years, I have ordered several smocks from Robert (Lovell Workwear) for my own use and have recommended them to all my students and club members. Yes they are a small family business so sometimes they are worked off their feet (probably the situation getting ready for the Daventry show) but their products are excellent quality and great value for money.

And a few years ago, after chatting with Robert at the Harrogate show, he sent some extra material, free of charge, for me to make a pen pocket on my smocks. What more could you ask?

My only "complaint" is that they don't (yet) make small smocks, suitable for youngsters, but that may happen if demand increases  ;D
