Clock
« on: May 08, 2011, 08:36:55 PM »
My first clock, after some initial sanding problems, all sorted itself, I may do some sort of stand for it, rather than hanging it on the wall, wasn't too sure what to do with the stand, maybe dowel or maybe a circular turned stand in a lighter wood.

Anyway, quite happy with it, next time I'll buy the separate pieces for the clock instead of an insert.

I was surprised to see this so soon after the post with the tearout problems...good save.

I'm not much into the complete clock inserts, and prefer the movement and hands so that you have more freedom to create a clock with a little something different about it, so your inclinations are spot on.

John, that's one beautiful clock and a stand would set it off nice, like what you've done and that you got over the the problem of tearout.
