Bowl of Fruit
« on: May 05, 2011, 10:50:14 PM »
I was asked some weeks ago to make a bowl of fruit for a pal at work.  No rush he said, which was handy as it's taken me about 6 weeks to get around to it.

Anyway, finished it over the weekend and he's delighted with it.  I'm pleased with it so I thought I'd post a piccy.  The bowl should have been about 2 inches bigger but a crack appeared as I turned off the base so I had a design opportunity! ::)

The bowl is Japanese Willow, the mandarin is Cocobolo (because I had a piece and I know it's not orange - but it's not fruit either   ;)), Laburnum and Cherry apples, Yew pear and Purpleheart plum.

Comments welcome.

Cheers Dave

Hi Dave,I like the Bowl and the Fruit well done,I am not so keen on the stalks a bit too chunky,if your pal is delighted with it that's what counts. Regards John

Hi Dave,
I shouldn't worry about the Mandarin not being orange, if my Apples and Pears were that colour I wouldn't eat them!
Nice job though, like the shape of the bowl.
Regards
John

Thanks for the comments guys, been away from PC for a few days, otherwise would have replied sooner

I'll have a look at the stalks again, good point.

My pal and his wife are delighted and now want 2 more plums.

Cheers Dave
