Eric,

I've not seen or heard of them for sale in the UK yet, but there is an upgrade path for those of us with a Nova chuck already.

However, I'm not sure I need to speed up my jaw changing such that I'll be investing in any-time soon.

I've only had a brief look at the website but if my first look is correct, this 'upgrade' would be unuseable if you are able to run your lathe in reverse, as it appears the jaws lock if moved clockwise but unlock if moved counter clockwise.  :o

Ironically Nova's DVR lathe has a reverse function. Is this a case of the chuck designer not being aware of how they are used ???

Although inserted from the side, the jaws are locked into place by pins so should not affect the chuck's ability to work in reverse.

Record plans to stock these but do not have any prices yet. They will be producing a promo catalogue some time in the new year.

Hi Statsman,
Well spotted. I jumped the gun a bit on this but was genuinely concerned with this concept.

I did email Teknatool and had a very detailed reply from their Marketing Manager, addressing my concerns. I won't post it here, as it's quite lengthy but it was good that they had considered the 'reverse' situation.

I guess the main concern now is how much they will cost. ;D
