I'd taken to read some of the comments and I'm somewhat suprised by the sponsors and the means of winning, if at all ... it's far from votes alone.

To clarify, don't worry, as you can see with the winners here, votes help but you don't need to be in the top 10 to be able to win. Votes count for 25% of the decision of who wins. More important is your story, to be specific and prove that the money can make a difference in our business. Everybody can win, we monitor activity per week from everbody so even if you haven't been collecting votes for weeks and just started, you can still win. Have a look at the winners above, some are charities some are small business owners, some have thoursands of votes, some only have hundreds and just started.
