From cherry tree, 20x20x10cm. Comments welcome.

Jo, good to see you back, what a return (no pun) beautiful piece, your usual excellent standard, like what you've done.  I think I can see what you've done, it's just how with you're new technique you've carried it out..   so don't tell..  we'll keep guessing..    ??? ...    Nice cherry and wonderful finish.

Hi Jo,

As they say above welcome back and worth waiting for, I saw a pic of something similar a few years back and tried to make one this is my effort but with the lattice work as an extra, this is the only pic I have I called it a lattice Rocking Bowl from memory it was about 6" diameter. I made a bad choice using Oak but somehow managed to keep it in one piece.

I wonder of we used similar methods.

Cheers Martin.

What a stunning piece of work. It's all very well for those of you who have worked it out, but I haven't a clue.  It would be wonderful Jo if you could enlighten me, I promise I won't tell the others :-X :-X

Just to let you all know...

Jo isn't ignoring the comments and questions...

we had to set up a Jo Winter2 account because Jo couldn't post under his original user name. The new account appears to allow new posts but NOT replies to posts!

Frankly I have no idea what is causing the problems but I am looking in to it and will hopefully have Jo back soon...

apologies to all...

Hello all,
yes Martin, you are right. That's nearly the same chucking problem.
Hans Weißflog from Germany makes such objects as your's.

Hi Jo

Fabulous piece.  And I'd like to know how it's done as well.

Cheers Dave

Hi all,
I'm back again. Thanks to Andy and the firefox explorer.

About your question how to do that. Generally I think it is better you think yourself about a way to turn it.
Very often you can find out another way to do it and it is very important to find your adapted way to
turn it. Thereby you learn to use this found new ways to develop new shapes.
But I will show the HTD a little bit later in the woodturning magazine. I hope you forgive me.

Thanks  Jo
