The wood is beautiful.

Although I would have aligned the darked wood with the straight edged grain (around the 2 o'clock area) at the bottom, to act as a lift to the rest of the grain pattern.

The drawback (as with all our clocks) is the hands and numerals, they look cheap, gilded plastic numerals (or stick on plastic) and pressed hands. It's nothing you've done, that's what we can buy (unless you know better).

Hi Paul,I agree with Bryan lovely piece of Walnut and the grain pattern is super,with regard to the numerals and hands I used to buy Brass ones from Meantime Designs [no longer trading] some I sprayed mat black they also had some nice fancy hands.Phil Irons was selling some I don't know if he has any now. That is if you want any.I still think it is a very nice clock and well turned and finished.

Now here's a good question - What else is there that can be used for Numerals?

 You can get two clocks from a domino set with a bit of jiggery pokery four dots become six with correct drill bit and a bit of black paint and sets can be bought on Ebay from about £5

Hello Paul,
               A lovely piece and well executed/finished (despite the numbers). with the ripple that you have in that piece of wood I think I may have been tempted to burn a small boat within it, just my thought.
Martin an unusual concept(which I would expect of you) but this time it does not rock my boat. I don't think the T&G works especially with green hands. But that's just me. Nice idea with the dominoes though.
All these ideas I may have to buy a bigger notepad!

I like the idea behind both of these though I have to admit I haven't done many clocks because of the quality of the parts that I have seen. If anyobne knows of decent ones I would be interested in knowing where to get them from.

I've used circles in lieu of numbers. 1" for the quarters and1/2" for the intermediaries. Ebony on a lightiish background.

I really like this clock. I might only say with reservation that brass dots or contrasting wood dots might be better than the roman numerals but that' s just my thought. Super job and great workmanship.
