John,   Three very nice pots, are the sides unfinished or did you brush and seal them, Like them.

Hi David, Thanks for your comments,on the turned part I use Sanding Sealer then Friction Polish with a coating of Wax,the unturned  parts (sides) I just brush any loose soil or debris off.I sometimes leave any Lichen on I even leave nails and Staples in.

I like these, and have turned similar pots myself from old posts of greenheart, oak, and jarrah.

A customer once bought one in jarrah and then came back to commission a door stop for a 20ft barn door in a conversion turned from the same post...the post was 12" by 12" and they wanted it 24" tall...boy was that a heavy lump to spin...

It's a great idea John - I like them.

Something else for my list of things to have a go at.  Shame this work thing keeps getting in the way of important things! ???

Cheers Dave

Hi john,
I like these very much. So much so that I have made one of my own. As soon as I charge the camera I will post a picture.
regards
John
