I did one a few years ago for a bit of fun. Didn't use all the fancy rigs in the video though. Mine was topped with the bird thingy and it wobbled well. It was about 36" long as far as I can remember. Main problem was that it was so fragile it was difficult to keep safe LOL. 'scuse the lousy photos,

Paul,

thank you for that, I had posted the same thing from a previous year but had not seen last years - always interesting.

I think one of my club's training advanced programmes includes a trembluer but only to a length of 350mm, certainly not 1200mm, that is some skill.

The Bedan seems to have fallen out of favour with us British as turners, so it's good to see that someone else is keeping it's use alive.

I am not a hundred percent sure what a bedan is? Is it sort of a fat square parting tool.

I might have to dig mine out of the unused tools box and have a play.

Is it in your unused tool box because you didn't get on with it or it isn't compatible with your current style of work?

Paul,

the Bedan is used for spindle work, and like the skew a skill that takes lots of practice.

I've used it a couple of times but have concentrated on the Skew itself.
