Holly is a beautiful timber to turn, it's like turning mister whippy ice cream!!!
If you can get it to dry without too much problem you are in for a treat!, also I would do a few wet thin wall pieces and watch it dry, the way they warp can be really nice/pleasing,
Wish I could get hold of some!!! :-[

Holly was one of my first woods I turned and I was very impressed with it it made a nice shaped bowl but I got a rather bland piece the grain didn't  really impress me

Thanks guys. I'll see if I can get some pics of the logs tomorrow. My friend will split them for me so they are more manageable as they won't go through my bandsaw as they are.
