Hi Andy,  So nice to see one of your pieces, buzzy with it in form, lot happening all over the place with it, as to what to take in first, finial, texture, the color or full form and finish.

Good one overall, would grow on one.

On an ordinary bowl or pot the sharp angle where the upper and lower section meet would not work - but you now that. The addition of the colour and texture move the whole thing to a new level where you can get away with it.

The finial(!) is awesome, my first though was Roman (as in soldiers headdress) but it's more an Inca Sun siguele and sits beautifully atop the whole thing.

This I like.

Hi Andy,
            this is a stunning piece with so much going on. You say it is in Ash yet I cannot see any prominent grain feature, did you put some form of base coat on before decorating it?
