Very many thanks for that David.  I think this will be the lathe of choice for me when I upgrade from my Record DML305.......

Hi all,
I have bought one of these lathes, (the first one sold) I am highly delighted with it, I think its very good value for money. The only gripe is a lack of a short tool rest, I bought one which is normally used on a Jet lathe. One of my students is going to order one next week.
Axminster use then in the "Skill Centre"

Thank you John,  it's always good to hear from an owner as to just how good a lathe maybe or of it's down side.

Cheers  David

Hi I have just purchased the New Axminster AT1416VS Lathe and I am relay pleased with it so far, I have a couple of small points I think could be improved. When I have used it a bit more I will do a review both here and on the Axminster web page.Regards John
