BRIAN HENSBY
« on: April 29, 2013, 02:51:36 PM »
I have just had an e-mail from Brian Hensby requesting a large amount of money to get him home.
I think this is an error so don't send any money

It is a phishing email/spam, don't reply to it. Martin Lawrence had exactly the same a few months ago.

Also a scam going around saying you have pay pal problems. Not to mention the one I got today from a lady who wants me to invest a couple of million for her in this country so she can make sure her money is safe for her kids.

I am sure you all aware of spams etc, so not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs.

If you ever get an email from a bona fide company that you are registered with then it will always have your name at the top of the page, if it says ' Dear Customer' or similar then it is more often than not a phishing email, or spam.

Brian is safe and well but unable to deal with this at the moment. It's only a spamming email as already stated. Delete and forget.

Thanks for highlighting it here; I was unable to access the NET this morning when it came through and somebody called me.

I got one to. Shame, he sounded in such trouble!

It's now a question of whether our e-mail addresses were farmed or just it was just his address book that was cycled.

We'll soon know, if we start getting lots of this sort of junk mail.

I had tho too but I must admit I'm not sure who Brian Hensby is, plus I have had these before so it got binned. I figured if he actually was in trouble I'd be pretty low on his list of people to contact. I'm a professional turner after all so he'd know I have no money!!  ;)

Personally I think the AWGB should pay for me to go to the Philippines to try and find him. ;) ;)
