Title: Burr Ash Bowl
Post by: willstewart on December 29, 2021, 10:30:56 AM
A bowl made from an ash burr bought 'off the tree' last summer and roughly shaped green. In practice drying in indoor ambient was quite slow and this became a Christmas project!  See the notes for drying curves and working pictures/details.

Not a complex design but a fascinating piece of wood and I am pleased with the overall effect.  I hope of some interest anyway.

That’s a nice looking piece. Thanks for posting.

Beautiful bowl. The simple form allows the character of the wood to shine through and take centre stage, as it were.

I just love burr's ,
You have done this one justice ,
My preference is for thick and chunky design  :)
