Title: I have much Heart I (Stylized botanical bowl)

22cm x 5cm

A turned bowl, carved with pyrography, painted and embelished with a gilt gold rim. depicting stylised botanics. The title is a reference to a poem by Miguel Hernandez "Me sobra el corazón"

Absolutely Brian! I was a little unsettled about it when i did it, and I should have listened to that inner voice that was telling me it wasn't quite right (although I did it for a specific reason at the time). I'm thinking about a neutral light grey on the next one, or maybe even (shock horror!!!) BARE WOOD :o hahaha. many thanks J

Im pleased we think alike, you never know when giving such an opinion how it will be received. Your piece is one of those that certainly isnt wrong, doesnt actually offend the senses but just something says it might have been better to give the base a different hat or the top a new pair of shoes. I reckon the day I make something I couldnt improve next time is the day I put the lathe on the market.
