Title: Nova DVR tailstock quill issue
Post by: Valkrider on January 15, 2021, 01:42:56 PM
My Nova DVR 3000 is about 14 years old and I have never been happy with the smoothness of how the tailstock quill moves. The handwheel has a fair bit of left / right movement in it and the quill moves unevenly. It is something that has frustrated me for years. I finally decided to do something about it.

Photo's 1 and 2 show the amount of movement between the hand wheel and the tailstock, it measures just over 6mm.
Photo 3 shows the spaced that I 3D printed that fits in the gap and photo4 shows it in place.

Why I didn't try and do something about this before I can't answer but now the quill moves smoothly and evenly. If the plastic spacer wears I can easily print another.
