Title: Lighted Xmas tree
Post by: Valkrider on November 24, 2020, 02:35:09 PM
I made this Xmas tree for my wife, nothing special just a turned base with a set of bottle lights inside it. The shade part should have been opaque glass (a one off) but when fitting it to the base it slipped and fell on the floor and broke. My 3D printer came to the rescue and I printed a new shade 0.8mm thick in white that was a copy of the glass one. Then as is always the case it wasn't wanted. I took it to the pop-up craft table I had on the terrace of a local coffee bar on Saturday. Much to my surprise it was the first thing that sold and during the course of the morning I took orders for another 7. C&C welcome.

Turnings don't need to be complex, big or the whole thing, sometimes they are just a component of something bigger.

And it looks like you've found a market for some of yours, well done on sorting out the broken glass issue and making a reproducible solution.

Looks good to me!

Now I need a way to turn it into a pepper grinder for our club Xmas competition....
