One in a while I come across a website that won’t accept my photos for upload. This sadly is one of those sites. I downloaded a couple of JPEG’s from my Photobucket page to upload here but the site says it can’t accept that file type. I don’t have this problem with any of my regular forums so what’s the problem here?
-
I keep my photos on my ocpmputer. Never had a problem uploading there. Make sure they are jpegs though.

They are JPEGs and upload just fine on other sites with the same sort of file restrictions.

Photos you want to post must be under 2Mb each. With today's cameras, digital or phone, taking upto 13Mb images you will need to reduce them in size to post them.
I use a free program called Photoscape, you can use it to crop the bit you ant from the image,, then resize it, I normally go for 800 or 1000 pixels on the longer side.

Almost definitely file size, I just use Windows paint and resize to 33% after cropping to what I want.

File size is 475kb is that really too big?!
Edit: Actually this website says it’s 475kb, if I send it by email it says it’s only 184kb?

Should be fine, I added your picture in the tool tips forum without any problem. One thing it may be is outdated cookies, this website does block uploads if the cookies are not fresh. Close your browser, then open it again come back to the site and give that a try.

I just checked the forum settings and jpeg wasn't on the list of allowed attachments so I have added it. Try uploading the file again.
-
Ok thanks for that, I’ll give it a try later. :)

Quick test.

Paul, that was always an anomaly, jpg were allowed but jpeg not'

Another thing that I've noticed.
If you try to upload a post with too big an image, you cannot delete the image, resize it and try again. You do have to delete the upload and start again. No idea why but I've had that happen to me at least twice.

I thought they were the same but apparently not quite. Although it does say they are used interchangeably unless you’re using an old windows system - why am I not surprised!

You can however turn jpeg into jpg by selecting rename and deleting the 'e'.
You might need to select 'View File Types' from the 'Folder and Search Options' menu.

Not on a tablet I think and I rarely use a desktop.
