I have a One-way vacuum adapter which just screws on which ever end of the spindle on the One-way lathe you aren't using (both ends are M33) so I decided to modify my Wivamac lathe to do the same. I cut a thread on a piece of boxwood but in the end decided to buy a chuck hub with the thread already done. I turned a flat on the handwheel to fit the hub and drilled and tapped some holes to fix the hub to it. Assembled with some silicon to seal it and an O ring added to the end of the spindle where the handwheel fits on and it's ready to go! Now all my vacuum chucks can be used on either lathe without messing around with different adapters. 😁

Paul, that's a very nice and tidy job. Another bit of the puzzle in making everything interchangeable is now done!
Where did you get the chuck hub? I may have a use for one and was considering having one made, but it will be easier to buy one I think.

Axminster and DNS sell chuck hubs.

I made my own, still going strong and very cheap and easy to make.

I already had the adapter but it didn't fit both lathes.
