Title: Christmas gifts
Post by: hughie on December 06, 2019, 06:42:49 AM
Its that time of year, this one is a decorative bowl 13 x 4" in Blackwood or Acacia Melanoxylon  akin to the Hawaiian Koa so its been suggested. Finished with  wiping varnish.
The Blackwood varies greatly depending on where it grown. This piece came from an area that produces a great deal of colour, slightly elevated location around 700m or 2000ft above sea level about an hour from where I live.

thoughts, comments all welcome.

I like the form and, as already mentioned, the rim detail is great.
