I posted the Black Queen a while ago. I priced her not to sell at a local art festival and the new owner immediately commissioned a King.
He is priced at a King's ransom and she still wants him!!!
As with the Queen the King's headpiece is a hollowform and the body/cloak is sandblasted Douglas Fir all ebonised and some gilt cream applied. The top of the crown is flocked.
This will be a last post for some time as I have dismantled my workshop and will move to Inverness area in early October where I have to build from scratch.
C&C welcome

Hi Nick....these bear all the hallmarks of your work...the quirky steampunk tendencies, the imagination and the impeccable finish. Excellent work.
By the way...sorry to hear that I'll miss you when I travel north next year. I hope the move goes well and that the new workshop brings us more like this.

Love the 'wierdness' of these. Hope you and the professor get sorted and back to busines soon .

As I stated elsewhere. They make a right royal pair and would not look out of place in any palace. Hope the move and workshop set up goes smoothly and that you are back turning soon

Thanks Les, Pete and Derek for taking the time to reply. It is much appreciated.
Les, I will be in touch soon. I am really sorry that, having persuaded you to visit beautiful Northumberland, I will not be here to greet you but family ties draw me further north. My visit to Bala was inspirational and I will always be grateful for that. But perhaps I can entice you to travel even further in the future.
Pete, love your new column in the comic, you should try the higher latitudes too.
Derek, always a stalwart on these pages, thanks for your support.
Bergenstrauser and I will be back
Kind regards
Nick
