Something a bit Different..... As always trying new ideas certainly not sure about this one. We were told about this medium
some months ago but was unsure how to adapt it to woodturning. Feed Back Would Be Very Much Appreciated.
Kind Regards Di Tony
Ps .. It may look fragile to touch but it's as hard as iron and very hard wearing.
PPs .. Please don't be too cruellll ..... I'm feeling very fragile at the moment :) :) :) :).... Regards Di

Can't make my mind up about the effects you have achieved here. Looks like canvas applied in some way on some parts. Certainly something to exeriment with and can see it becoming something special in time having seen the ways you both work .

Plus one for not sure. But 10/10 for something new it is brave and adventurous to try something different. Looks like old potato sack and onion bags by the texture

Hi Tony & Di
This is taking it to a whole new level
No carving, No sanding, ;D ;D ;D
Great idea for a display base as in the second set of pictures.
Can't wait to see what happens next.
All the best

Hi Tony & Di,
I like this effect would love to see the Hessian cut in strips about an inch wide and woven together before fixing to the turned item.
Cheers Martin.
-
Thank You For Commenting Ed...... Forgot to mention the wood is a rotten old piece of Spanish Olive and its 4" in height.
Thank You Martin For Commenting.... This being the first try, got a long way to go but do keep an eye on this space.
Always thought marbling was messy ... this is messy and sticky .... but good fun.

Hi Tony and Di....I hate to say it, but I'm really struggling with this piece. I find it unattractive, yet at the same time, I am excited by the texture. What can I say.....perhaps I should reserve judgement until you've produced a few more pieces with this technique. Whatever I think is relatively unimportant, what is important is that you two keep pushing boundaries....keep at it!

Hi Di and Tony,
You say that you found a new product, was this Paverpol or fibreglass. It is always great to experiment andf would like to see where you are going to take this.
-
Sorry a bit late catching up.... Thanks Les.. Your thoughts are very similar to ours , we need to experiment more
and try different ideas and shapes.
Kind Regards Di Tony
Thank You wellturnedout ... I don't want to name the product yet in case any major issues arise. we need to do
a lot more experiments before hand.
Kind Regards Di Tony

Hi Di and Tony. strangely I am quite drawn to this texture (probably the old soldier in me, pull up a sandbag and I will tell you a story!) I do think however that it would be given a lift by using colour on it. Certainly different though.
-
Thank You John... I did a small experiment with brighter colours but felt it looked too bright... in the end decided for the
first one that it would look better with a more weathered look. As always though ALL feedback and thoughts are very much
appreciated.
Kind Regards Di Tony.

Tony, Di,
I know this product, and have been playing with it. Some strange effects it can create, everyone seems to get something that looks good except yourself, at least that's how I view it.
I sort of like the small pot(?), but think it could have had a little colour very gently applied in a few spots, to bring it to life.
Keep playing though, the possibilities are boundless.

There are quite a few colours on the pot Bryan obtained by using Pearl Ex Pigment Powders applied with a wet brush.
which show very well to the natural eye, but for some reason the camera is not picking them up.... There is Gold ...
Russet .. Blue .. and a bit of Turquoise .... Going to try different types of paints on the next one.
Kind Regards Tony Di
