Only put these on because I liked the wood so much..... Its got to be the most difficult I have ever worked with
( soft and spongy ) They are finished with Danish Oil ..... The Bowl is 9" and the Box Is 5".
I Know the finish is not good but I tried my best. Comments always welcome.

Stunning timber and good clean shapes to show it off......oiling must have been tedious on soft and spongy wood, but you've certainly achieved a lovely sheen.

These work for me. Nothing fussy just let the wood speak for itself. Love them.
-
Thanks crazylegs .... The wood actually comes from a tree 4 to 5 hundred years old ... and boy was it rotten.
Kind Regards Tony

Hi Tony
I say well worth the effort, what stunning looking timber.
Sometimes you just have to try and some time you get rewarded with piece's like this :)
All the best

Although I don't feel that the bowl is up to a saleable standard I will keep it for a while , its got such a nice grain.

Tony, that is stunning Walnut. If you hadn't said I'd have guessed at Tiger Oak.
And you've nothing to apologise about for the finish either, I like the softness of the effect.

Bryan I Think in total they have cost more in oil than I could have charged.

I seemed to have missed this one so a little late in commenting.
The simple shape of the turning is all that was needed to show off a lovely piece of wood. The box is the one that does it for me top job
