Title: Something new for me
Post by: Dave Atkinson on August 17, 2011, 07:03:51 PM
Club competition this week - small platter with a non wood component.  Martin suggested this to me at the seminar so i thought I'd have a go.

First the excuses:

It's been done in a rush, there is lots wrong with it but...I;m pleased with the result.  The water drop effect looks better in real life, although I think a red spray may have looked better.

anyway, it was fun doing it and the next one will be better.

Feel free to comment good or bad.
Cheers Dave

Hi Dave,

Well executed for your first attempt at this effect, this is thinking outside the box pure genius behind the concept. lol

Cheers Martin.

Hello Dave, I hope you win the Club competition with this. Now I know what to do if I go through the bottom of a bowl and I will not take all of the praise I will give you a Plug.LOL :) Regards John

Been some good comments too ...    ;D ....

If you dont have an airbrush aerosol ( NOT WATER BASED ) is just as good as long as you are far enough away not to blow the water droplets across your piece, remember to seal the wood with a few coats of selaer before applying your background colour.

Cheers Martin.
