Title: Turning Bottle Tops
Post by: Bryan Milham on May 31, 2015, 07:22:04 PM
Yep,

just as the title says, this is an Instructable where the guy melts together several hundred milk and other bottle tops, then turns a bowl from them.

Interesting and the shavings can be remelted - have you seen the Australian guy who puts his interesting offcuts in Acrylic Resin and turns from that - pretty unique - the link is here if you havn't seen it - I have the materials and going to try it but it's getting round to it!

Yes, I've had several e-mail conversations with Brendan. Although Austrailia does not have an equivalent of our RPT he is one of their top Proffesional Turners. He also has a web site;

His 60 seconds of BS (Brendan Stamp) can be quite funny as well.

Thanks for posting Brian.  I will try this bottle top idea with my kids.  Recycling is something  we are always trying to raise awareness of - as the article says the blanks are not limited to bowls.  We have a pressure pot in school so we should be able to get rid of all the voids.  Exciting idea!
