Title: Keepers No2
Post by: GwilymF on July 07, 2011, 08:12:38 PM
This is the latest of my Keepers series. It is 18"high and made from two pieces of Cherry. The snakes are turned, hollowed, carved and pyrographed from one piece of Cherry with the outer six snakes spiralling one way whilst the inner six snakes spiral in the opposite direction. The base and column was turned and carved from the other piece of Cherry then stained. the snakes are guarding a magic crystal which is glued to the top of the column. Comments and critiques welcome.

It looks stunning but I don't think the single photo does it justice -any chance of a few close up's please. Your description makes me want t see more.

Thanks all for your comments. Glad the extra photos of how it was done, re, routing on the lathe was helpful.
