Title: Votes needed pretty please
Post by: bodrighywood on November 05, 2013, 06:13:34 PM
I have put in for the Intuit offer for small businesses which, if successful, would be worth some much needed cash. It partly depends on getting votes so if any of you wonderful, kind people could be so good could you go to the voting site and vote for me. You can find it here (https://apps.facebook.com/quickbooksuk-tm/?x=gb-en_lolb2desktop_93255_), doesn't cost you anything LOL. It goes on until the 11th of December and there will be 11 recipients. You can vote once a day not just the once. You don't have to log in either. Any votes would be greatly appreciated and if I was successful help towards some badly needed new equipment to upgrade my workshop.

Hi Pete, I so like your statement ... so before it's buried under the rest "VOTE FOR ME" here for all to see ...  "Most traditional crafts and skills are found within small businesses as are many of the top quality and custom work. Skills and knowledge that are an inherent part of ourt culture will be lost if these small business are allowed to decline. Fortunately, due to the economic climate many whoare made redundant take the plunge and set up in business for themselves and these are the ones who need the support and encouragement."

Early days with the ratings.... Voting 4 U ..

It's 5:00 in the morning and I'm wide awake with raging toothache - or perhaps that should be gum-ache, as I had the tooth out 3 days ago! Anyway....added another vote then posted a link on my Facebook wall; maybe it will drum up a few more votes!

Well done Les, on the link to FB, it's hoped other have or will do the same.

A tooth out ..    :'( ... I can sympathize with that, not that it has yet come to it .. but the wife had an extraction early in the year and the lad (kid really) broke it from part of the root, the wife kept having to go back in for a month if not longer .. as it wouldn't heal, they gave her she should do this, have done that or such an such .. what that was I don't recall. The piece has since worked it's way out, well the wife had part of a tooth from somewhere, which it had to have been.

I'm trusting you'll not have the same and will heal quickly.

Cheers   Dewi

PS .. Pete we'll return to Voting ..   :-[ ..

I am staying steady at between 16th and 17th lately. I don't know whether or not the results depend totally on votes or not so can't tell exactly what my standing is. There are some which IMHO are arguably non valid at several thousand votes as they are established businesses or charities which don't. I feel, fit the criteria. Whether the judges / assessors take this into accout I can't say. In the meantime I am truly grateful for the support that I am getting from everyone

# 1614 .... 8 days remain .. keep voting ..

I'd taken to read some of the comments and I'm somewhat suprised by the sponsors and the means of winning, if at all ... it's far from votes alone.

Intuit QuickBooks UK Congratulations to @RosewoodFarms @NewtonandApple @EpilepsySucksUK for winning £1,000 ow.ly/rn3Lh #SupportSmallBizUK 4prizes left.

To clarify, don't worry, as you can see with the winners here, votes help but you don't need to be in the top 10 to be able to win. Votes count for 25% of the decision of who wins. More important is your story, to be specific and prove that the money can make a difference in our business. Everybody can win, we monitor activity per week from everbody so even if you haven't been collecting votes for weeks and just started, you can still win. Have a look at the winners above, some are charities some are small business owners, some have thoursands of votes, some only have hundreds and just started. Keep participating - we stil have 4 prizes out there (we're a little late with the two last rounds so still good to go).

Well Pete, you're at 2237 ... looks to be still active, for being over .. the whole concern is on the flaky side, if 7 rewards had already been presented, 4 still remained, how did or who got what, if at all .. Reading down QuickBooks has stated the New version/next generation of QuickBooks Online has been released .. to coincide at the same time !!!. I have every faith, it was for real, but could this have been a marketing ploy. Then Bjoern Uehss maybe a one man band like the rest of us.

I still consider you've every chance of a reward.

Since starting to write it's now 2239 ... ::) .

Pete. I had wordered as to what appeared to be happening with comments on the Link FB page: and that voting to be very much factitious, (by the way I've just voted # 2378 !!)  :D .. as it was all done by rounds .. As below:

Please join us in congratulating these businesses and take a minute to check out each of their missions!

First round winners:
Best Deal Guide (read their story)

Second round winners:
Rosewood Farms
Epilepsy Sucks
Newton and the Apple

Third round winners:
Jen Made This
Gem Alley
SOHOST

Fourth round winners:
Bump and Me
Free-Fold.com
Incredible Bakery Company

Final round winners – Grand prize £5,000:
The Opus Pocus

Thanks to all participants. Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook to be the first to know about the next campaign.

I very much wonder as to what Best Deal Guide was .. they'd shouted the most .. and your past comment " what had some to do with Art & Crafts.." comes to mind.

Has the winners really been the Promoters ... £11k very small amount for advertising new site.

In the end it was worth the try ... your still at the same point .. square one .. but the New Year and plans a fresh to look forward too.

On the note. you've no doubt looked at Local Rural Funding, Lotto (waste trying to win) and other sources or you'd not have entered this very one. I trust all goes well with your future plans.

Cheers  David

Hi Everyone,
Only just noticed this post and Pete's attempt to win the Intuit award. Unfortunately there are two things about this that could explain Pete not winning.

First Intuit only consider votes from 'customers', not friends. They offered something similar to this award some years ago and I asked about this. I was told 'social media/forum' voting was discounted.

Second, Les is spot on, it is a means of collecting names/ emails for their sales promotions, as you would expect.  :(
